Architecture in Form and Function
The architect Hermann Henselmann designed what is now known as the bcc as a place for people to meet and exchange ideas. In 1964, the domed building opened as a congress hall at Alexanderplatz. The architecture combines clean lines with ornamental details, sleek glass and aluminum with the warm charm of wood, and sharp angles with organic curves.
