New Faces Award
Europe's largest peoples magazine, BUNTE, celebrates the new stars of German cinema with more than 1,000 guests in attendance.
Future Award
The German Federal President, Horst Köhler, awards the prize for Technology and Innovation, worth 250,000 Euro, at the bcc. Maybrit Illner presents the gala performance and 500 guests are present, ranging from economy, science, politics, and society.
Lucky Strike Designer Award
The French designer, Phillippe Starck, is presented with the Lucky Strike Designer Award for his lifetime achievement. The ceremony´s orator is Guido Westerwelle. Awarded by the Raymond Loewy Foundation and valued at 50,000 Euro, the award is rated as one of the most coveted and lavish designer prizes worldwide.
MTV Designerama On Stage
MTV and the top model Eva Padberg present the latest fashion trends. The evening's theme is "Nightlife rocking - next day shopping," and leads to a an after show party that is combined with a fashion market. Guests like Sophie Ellis-Bextor, the Pet Shop Boys, Chicks On Speed, Rammstein, Paul van Dyk, and others join the party.
Brussel's Day
Following New York, Milan, Madrid and Paris, this year Berlin and the bcc has been chosen to host Brussels Day. The capital of Belgium presents its achievments in fashion, design, culture events, and tourism. Belgian designers showcase their creations in an enthralling fashion show.
ECR Gala Night
The ECR-Initiative Deutschland welcomes 1,300 guests from leading companies in the trade and consumer goods industry in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to a gala night at the bcc. The party continues until early morning.
Humboldt Ball
The sold-out bcc hosts the Humboldt Ball of the Humboldt University Berlin. 1,300 guests dance till the break of dawn. Scholars, politicians, and representatives from the economy socialise at a night to remember.
Web Award for Architecture
"Spot on!" The Internet Award 2003 for Architecture is all about the sculptural qualities of light. More than 800 architects and students of architecture attend the award ceremony at the bcc - for many it is the first opportunity to visit the recently and carefully restored building of star architect, Herrmann Henselmann.
bcc and friends - The bcc New Year's Eve party
Friends of the bcc are invited to the first New Year's Eve party after the re-opening. The main hall witnesses live acts such as the trash-pop band, "The Beez". The light installation, "Blinkenlights reloaded," illuminates the countdown to 2004 on the facade of the House of the Teachers.
Jupiter Award
In March 2002 the conversion of the former "Kongresshalle" (Congress Hall) on Alexanderplatz begins. The Jupiter Film Award, in context of the Berlinale 2002, is the last event before the start of the construction works. At the same time, it is the first event taking place under the direction of the bcc GmbH.
